Tanjung Puting is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife. The star attraction is the Bornean Orangutan – you'll see them both wild and at rehabilitation feeding stations like Camp Leakey.
Beyond orangutans, keep your eyes peeled for proboscis monkeys with their distinctive long noses, gibbons swinging through the canopy, monitor lizards basking on riverbanks, and crocodiles gliding through the water.
Bird lovers will spot hornbills, kingfishers, and eagles. At night, the riverside comes alive with fireflies creating a magical light show.
